What is happening today in Fortnite? After the new Season 8 has been out for a week, there is more for Fortnite fans today. However, before you can try out the new update, there will be maintenance.
Fortnite servers are going down – when will they be back online?
When will the server maintenance start? Around 9:30 AM German time, you will no longer be able to join new lobbies, but you can still finish active games.
At 10 AM, the servers will be taken down for update 8.0.1, and Fortnite will no longer be accessible.
How long will the maintenance take? Usually, Epic delivers smaller patches in a relatively short time. You should be able to get back in by noon at the latest.
If there are unforeseen complications that extend the maintenance, you will be informed as usual on MeinMMO. Just like the patch notes, which will be released shortly after the downtime starts.
What can you expect after the patch in Battle Royale mode? Not much is known yet, but leaks suggest that you will be able to go on a treasure hunt after the update. Theories suggest that a treasure map leads to a chest with great loot. However, how this will look in reality is still unknown.
Moreover, Epic has already announced that various sound bugs will be fixed, which emerged at the beginning of Season 8. Players are also currently unhappy about the drop rate of the assault rifles. These, according to the criticism, are found significantly less often than the infantry rifle, which is not very popular (except with Ninja).
