Today, on 27th March, the Fortnite servers will be down for maintenance on all platforms (PC/Mac, Xbox One, PS4, Switch, iOS, Android). You will need to download a patch. How long will the maintenance take and when can you log back in?
What is happening today in Fortnite? As has become tradition, the Fortnite servers will be taken offline again this week to upgrade the game to version 8.2.
As usual, you will not be able to access Fortnite during the maintenance period. After the patch, bug fixes and new content await you.

Fortnite servers go down – when will they be back online?
When do the maintenance works start? From 09:30 AM German time, you will no longer be able to start new games. This way, it is ensured that no open lobbies exist at the start of the maintenance and ongoing games will have to be interrupted.
At 10:00 AM, the servers will finally be shut down. Fortnite will then be unreachable.
When will the Fortnite servers be back online? Experience shows that Fortnite developers Epic typically need between one and two hours for smaller maintenance work. By around noon, you should be able to log back in.

What does update 8.2 bring for Battle Royale players? Update 8.2 includes some major changes. A new arena mode and a new item, the poison trap, are being introduced. However, the highlight will likely be the new game mode called “Hot Feet” that is supposed to evoke childhood memories of the game “The Floor is Lava”.
The only difference from the playground back then: You will likely be able to wield weapons to defeat your opponents. Presumably, the mode will go live today with the patch.
What does version 8.2 bring for the “Save the World” mode? The exact contents for Fortnite’s PvE mode are still unknown. According to the announcement on Reddit, the update will revolve around pirates.
