What is happening in Fortnite today? As in every week, Fortnite developer Epic Games will take the servers offline to apply a new update. However, unlike previous weeks, you will have to wait longer this time.
Epic has announced that the maintenance will take longer this week. Battle Royale players can look forward to a new mode and Save the World enthusiasts to a dinosaur companion!
Fortnite servers going down – when and for how long?
When does server maintenance start? As usual, you can join a new game until 9:30 AM. After that time, it will no longer be possible to avoid game interruptions at the start of maintenance.
At 10:00 AM German time, the servers will be completely shut down. Fortnite will then no longer be accessible.
How long will the downtime last? Epic has announced via Twitter that players should expect an extended downtime this week. There is no exact timeframe and the reasons are unknown. However, you should be able to log back in by early afternoon.

What does update 9.10 bring for Battle Royale? After the total success of John Wick and the Avengers, the event that is likely to start today will revolve around one of the greatest basketball players of all time: Michael Jordan. Epic has given a corresponding hint with a teaser.
The details on how the event or a corresponding game mode will be structured are still unknown.
This is included in the update for Save the World players: Epic has presented the contents for the upcoming weeks in a recently published roadmap on Reddit. PvE players can look forward to the following contents:
- New Dino Soldier
- War Games – Space Rocks
Additionally, there will likely be the usual bug fixes in both the PvE and PvP parts of Fortnite.
