A new starter pack has been announced for Fortnite. According to Epic, the pack along with a new skin should already be available, but that wasn’t the case until recently. Find out here what caused the delay.
What is the starter pack all about? Fortnite regularly offers affordable packs with a skin and the in-game currency V-Bucks in the shop. Often, exclusive starter pack skins, like the Summit Striker, are particularly sought after, and the current skin “Cobalt” is also eagerly awaited by many players. According to Epic, the pack along with the skin should already be available, but nothing can be found in the shop so far.
Rollout instead of Release
When will the new starter pack be released? According to Epic, the skin and pack should appear over the course of today. They mistakenly referred to it as a release, but meant “rollout”. This refers to a variable release period, not a specific time when the product is guaranteed to be available.
Therefore, Epic apologizes for the confusion. As soon as the pack along with the skin is available, we will inform you here.
Update: The pack has now appeared in the shop and can be purchased for 4.99 euros.
Why starter packs are so affordable
As in the past, the new pack will likely be offered for around 4.99 euros. It includes the skin, a backpiece, and 600 V-Bucks (approximately 6 euros). The V-Bucks alone are already worth more than the pack costs. The skin, being an epic skin, is also valued at around 15 euros. Thus, the pack is a real bargain.
The reason for the good offer: Epic does not offer this lucrative deal out of sheer goodwill. Rather, the bargain is a good entry point for spending real money in Fortnite. Because once players have crossed this hurdle, they tend to reach for their credit cards more often in the future when there is an attractive offer in the shop.
