Epic Games is currently working on new weapons and consumables for Fortnite Battle Royale. They are also tweaking the balance of some features. You can find out what else the developers revealed in their video update here.
In a developer update, Epic Games revealed that the overhaul of weapons is currently a priority in Fortnite Battle Royale. There are many ways to introduce new weapons into the game. The update also mentioned more points such as consumables and balance.
These are the important changes and plans:
- Voice Chat: The voice chat was recently added to PC. Players on PS4 and Xbox will have to wait a bit longer, but the update with voice chat will also come to consoles soon.
- When will new weapons arrive? The Battle Royale mode offers many possibilities to add new weapons. Epic wants to first introduce new weapons that best fit the core gameplay. As soon as it is possible, to create a balanced mix for new weapons that fits into the current weapons mix, the new weapons will arrive.
- New Consumables: Epic feels that consumables currently need the most improvement. The developers are testing various prototypes. One of them is a Healing Potion that heals 75% of health and provides a small shield, but the effect takes effect over a certain period of time.
- Adjustments to Weapon Accuracy: Adjustments to assault rifles are currently being worked on. According to Epic, these require the most editing. Things are being worked on like adding more accuracy while moving and shooting. If the adjustments leave a good impression, they will arrive next week.
- Scope: It is possible to individually adjust the zoom (scope) in the settings.
- What’s next? Account progression and character customization will be added and linked. Improvements to Aim Assist are also being worked on. “Quality of Life” improvements are also on the agenda – soon it should be possible for consoles to perform actions faster.
