Fortnite: Battle Royale (PC, PS4 & Xbox One) is getting a new game mode for a limited time. In this mode, 50vs50 players compete in massive teams to slaughter each other.
Fortnite: Battle Royale, the lively PvP mode of the coop shooter Fortnite, simply doesn’t stand still. Every few days, the game from Epic Games surprises us with new updates, announcements, and events. This time, you’ll get a new game mode where you can let loose.
Massive PvP battles between two 50-player teams
The new game mode is called 50vs50 and lives up to its name. While in regular Fortnite: Battle Royale, 100 players shoot each other in a massive deathmatch or compete in small teams, in 50vs50 there are only two camps of 50 players each.
Within your 50-player team, you can form duo and trio teams. Additionally, the following features are included:
- There is no friendly fire (but you can still see hit indicators)
- Limited visibility on allied team members (green arrows and markers indicate the direction)
- The voice chat only works within your own small team – you cannot chat with the 50-player team
- You can revive all team members (not just those from the small team)
- You can only see other allied players after landing, so plan well ahead
Otherwise, the usual rules from Fortnite: Battle Royale apply: Jump out of the battle bus, collect weapons and resources, build fortifications, and slaughter enemies!
The construction of fortifications could become crucial in the new mode.
The new 50vs50 mode will unfortunately not be available for long. It starts today, on December 8, and ends on December 17, 2017. Epic Games plans to bring more events of this kind in the future.
In a roadmap, the developers presented further innovations for the game. If Fortnite implements all these plans, it will become a really great game!
