The 21-year-old streamer Rani “Stable Ronaldo” claimed to have received a long ban from Twitch on March 14. However, he was unbanned after just 2 days. The player and streamer of the online shooter Fortnite explains the reason for the ban and why it was shortened.
Who is he?
- Stable Ronaldo is a Fortnite streamer and esports player who has been successful in recent years: the 21-year-old has almost 3 million followers on Twitch.
- For his 21st birthday in January 2024, the American treated himself to a Porsche for €200,000. However, his career seemed to be in danger on March 14 when he received a long Twitch ban.
- The streamer said in a video about the ban: He was devastated, didn’t know what to do, and maybe wanted to look for a job.
The streamer Clix is closely friends with Ronaldo, and he also treated himself to a sports car:
Streamer says: Twitch confused stuffed animal with real dog
This is the new development: The ban of Stable Ronaldo was lifted by Twitch on Sunday, March 17. At that time, he had been banned for 2 days and 18 hours.
In a Twitch stream on Sunday, March 17, Stable Ronaldo explains the reason for the ban and for his unbanning.
According to Stable Ronaldo, he was banned by Twitch – originally for a longer time – because he mounted a stuffed animal, and Twitch thought it was a real dog:
„Many of you have wondered: Why was I banned? Uhm. I mounted a stuffed animal and they thought I was mounting a … dog.”
The streamer held up the white plush dog to the camera and said that it was the last time the viewers would see it.
He said that the ban was actually much longer, but “We managed to get it down.” He thanks Twitch for understanding that they made a mistake here.
What kind of clip was that? The clip that Stable Ronaldo might be referring to is probably this Twitch clip, which was made 22 days ago. However, it is clearly visible that it is a stuffed dog and not an Alinity situation.
Is Twitch really that stupid or is the streamer just playing everyone?
What’s behind it: It is unclear whether Twitch really made such a serious mistake and confused a stuffed animal with a living being – or if Stable Ronaldo is telling a strange story and was actually banned and unbanned for a triviality.
Ronaldo is exploiting a loophole in the system here: Twitch does not publicly disclose either the length of bans or the reasons for them, but leaves it to the streamer what he communicates to his viewers regarding a ban.
In the past, streamers like Disguised Toast have lied to their viewers and the public about the length and reason for a ban to gain attention.
