The new vampire game The Blood of Dawnwalker by Rebel Wolves, which is partly made up of former developers of The Witcher 3, has a special mechanic that you should always keep in mind. In the open-world RPG, it’s about time, since you only have 30 days and 30 nights to achieve your goal.
If you fail, there will be consequences for your family, as the developers explain on X.com. However, not every action costs you time.

Beware of the Quests
How does the system work? The developers explain in their post on X.com that you only have 30 days and 30 nights in the game, but it’s not a continuous flow of time. Time is only supposed to advance when you select quests or certain dialogue options.
However, when you fight, explore the world, or just stand around AFK, no time should pass. So you can freely explore the world and do what you want without risking your family.
The quests and dialogues that advance time each have an hourglass symbol that indicates how much time they will take from your clock. So you have to decide whether to take the quest or not.
What happens when time runs out? Although the developers have announced “consequences” for your character’s family if you don’t reach your goal in time, it’s not clear what exactly they will entail.
However, in their post, the developers emphasize that exceeding 30 days and nights does not lead to an end of your game progression. If you don’t care about your character’s family, you can safely ignore the mechanic.
Blood of Dawnwalker aims to be the exact opposite of a linear adventure.
