Among the most prestigious items in World of Warcraft are undoubtedly the mounts. Particularly rare or expensive mounts often attract attention. In Battle for Azeroth, one of these mounts is available – for 5 million gold. How much would one have to spend in real money for it?
The Great Brutosaur costs 300 Euros: In Battle for Azeroth, a Mighty Caravan Brutosaur is available for 5,000,000 gold pieces. The dinosaur seats 5 passengers, has an auctioneer on board – and could be paid for with 300 Euros.
The WoW Token makes it possible: If someone wanted to buy the behemoth only with real money, they would have to do so using WoW Tokens. The tokens can be purchased for 20 Euros and then converted into 30 days of playtime or sold on the WoW auction house.
The prices for the token vary by region. In Europe, it currently costs around 350,000 gold. If someone wanted to purchase the Brutosaur solely with real money, they would need 14.3 tokens, meaning they would have to buy 15. This equals 300 Euros for the dinosaur.
Trying could result in even more: The calculation is quite simple and does not take any other factors into account. The price of the token is automatically determined by supply and demand.
If there are more tokens than buyers, the price drops. Therefore, if just one person were to offer 20 tokens, the price would already decrease. If even more people tried, the price would drop even further. Only when the price of the token rises could players save money with it.
Other prestigious and useful mounts compared: The last mount with NPCs before the Brutosaur was the Grand Expedition Yak for 120,000 gold pieces. This could be purchased for one token, leaving 200,000 gold still remaining.
In contrast, the Bloodfang Widow still costs a whopping 120 Euros – the spider is available for 2,000,000 gold pieces from a crazy vendor.
