Centurion Guide – Information about the new hybrid of the knights
The Centurion (Centurion) joins the knight faction as a hybrid. Thus, he holds the same classification as the Lawbringer.
When you log in to For Honor after the Update 1.07, the Centurion is introduced to you as follows: “For the Centurion, the battlefield resembles a chessboard. Every warrior assumes a role; sometimes sacrifices are necessary. This is the nature of war. And the Centurion celebrates it.”
The Centurion fights with the Gladius – a fast short sword with which he inflicts medium damage. It is effective at close range, which is why the Centurion is classified as a melee fighter. In addition, he is characterized by a variety of attack combos that we will introduce in more detail in this article.
However, the Centurion does not only slay enemies on the battlefield with the blade of his sword: He can also attack enemies with a powerful kick that cannot be blocked or strike opponents with the hilt of his sword. Furthermore, the Centurion possesses the “Imperial Power” – a devastating sword thrust that you can execute after two successful hits.
The actions, combos, and special attacks of the Centurion in For Honor
For the Centurion, as with all other heroes: Knowledge is power! You must first know and practice all special combos and special attacks to master the Centurion. As these are quite complicated, the Centurion has the difficulty “Hard”.
Note on key combinations:
- R1 stands for Light Attack
- R2 for Heavy Attack
- Left Stick (L) for Movement (in the respective direction)
- Right Stick (R) for Weapon Position
- Square for Break Guard
- X for Dodge
- L3 for Sprint
You can find the combos in the hero menu under “How to Fight” and then “Action List”:
You can charge the heavy attack of the Centurion by holding the button for the heavy attack. This gives the attack more range and damage. The three lion combos are chain attacks. During the attacks, you can change your stance.
- Wrath of the Eagle Alternative: A jump attack that allows you to close the distance to the enemy.
- Legionnaire Kick: An unblockable attack that knocks the enemy back with a kick.
- Thrust: Also unblockable. You push the opponent back, regardless of whether you previously inflicted damage or whether the opponent could block the attack. After a thrust, a light attack is guaranteed to hit.
- Charged Thrust: Unblockable, the opponent falls to the ground. To do this, hold square a little longer than with the thrust.
- Quick Throw: The light attack must connect. You then push the opponent back.
- Lion’s Roar: The guard break must be successful for this combo. Then you hit with the hilt up to 3 times on the opponent.
- Parry Counter: You must parry at the right moment for this to work.
Additionally, there are:
- Recoil Kick: Press square (guard break button) again after a throw to perform a kick that knocks the opponent back and stuns them.
- Imperial Power: This is unblockable. Hold the heavy attack to finish a chain with an unblockable attack. Quick throws and kicks can be linked to the Imperial Power. Here, the Centurion grips his Gladius with both hands and thrusts it into the opponent’s abdomen. For example, perform a light attack to the left, then to the right, and then hold the button for the heavy attack.
- Lion Set: A charged heavy attack pins the opponent down, allowing you to safely charge the thrust.
- Eagle Claws: Press the heavy attack button next to staggering opponents to perform a jump attack.
Combine these special attacks to surprise your enemies.
Tip: Go to the hero menu under “How to Fight” and watch the videos for the Centurion. There you can see the attacks in action.
