In For Honor, a tournament and ranking mode is coming to the game. Test phases will take place beforehand.
Ubisoft has released “This Week in For Honor”. It discusses the tournament and ranking mode that was announced months ago as part of the “Year 1” plan. It was stated that it would be released later this year.
Now it is known: The tournaments and ranking matches are coming in the summer. Ubisoft has set this timeline:
- In the coming weeks, PTS (Public Test Servers) are expected to go live. These test servers will primarily be used to allow a portion of the community to thoroughly test the upcoming tournaments and ranking matches. Player feedback is crucial.
- Following the PTS phase, there will be a beta version of the tournament and ranking mode. Then the entire community can test the new feature.
- In August, Season 3 will begin. During this time – as Ubisoft expects – you will not only play with new heroes and new content but also spend a lot of time in tournaments and ranking matches.
Tournaments, Ranking Matches – What is it all about?
Ubisoft has not yet revealed any details on what tournaments and ranking matches will look like in For Honor. Concrete info is expected to follow “soon”.
By the way: While the “Year 1” plan mentions tournaments and ranking matches, it now speaks of only one “tournament/ranking mode”. It remains to be seen what will actually come to the players.
Ranking matches are usually designed for players who want to take the game “seriously” and test their skills rather than just playing a few relaxed rounds online. With victories, they rise in rank. The higher the final rank, the better the rewards are likely to be. This is expected to be similar in For Honor.
