For the sword-fighting MMO For Honor, there will be a small closed beta before the release. To participate, Ubisoft has come up with something really special: Build a weapon and receive a key as a thank you.
For Honor, Ubisoft’s fast-paced melee spectacle, will launch on February 14, 2017. However, from January 26 to January 29, there will be another closed beta during which you can play most of the game modes planned for release. The beta will start on PC, PS4, and Xbox One simultaneously and will include three of the four game modes and nine out of twelve classes.
The contents of the beta in detail
The three game modes included in the beta are the 4vs4 domination mode, the 2vs2 team battle, and the 1vs1 duel. For the factions, you have
- the heroes Raider, Berserker, and Warlord for the Vikings
- Conqueror, Warden, and Peacekeeper for the Knights
- and Orochi, Kensei, and Nobushi for the Samurai.
These will battle it out on six maps. Additionally, the beta will introduce a feature called “Fraction War” for the first time.
This is a persistent cross-platform meta event where all victories of the faction you support are collected. The stronger a faction can assert itself, the more territories on a map it wins. The faction that conquers the most land by the end of the beta wins. All supporters will receive rewards. You choose your faction once, and no matter which heroes you play, your victories will always count for the chosen group.
How to get into the Closed Beta – The weapon is the key
“This all sounds totally amazing, but how do I get into the damn beta!?” It’s simple! Instead of endlessly waiting for beta invites or entering giveaways, you just need to watch a few videos and then build a weapon.
Ubisoft has illustrated the story of three warriors from For Honor on a website called SCARS. Choose one of the three fighters and click through their lives by watching a total of four videos.
At the end, you will be asked to build a weapon in memory of this brave warrior. Choose various parts and assemble the weapon. As a thank you, you’ll receive a guaranteed key for the beta! You can find a link to SCARS in the source reference. Have fun in the beta of For Honor!
