Firefall is set to receive a port for PlayStation and mobile devices.
It was actually expected that the next news from Firefall would be another bad news. The China launch, which had been worked on for a long time, seems to have fallen quite flat. At the end of last year, there were bleak news from Firefall, salaries were not paid, employees were laid off.
Overall, it has an unfortunate history, at some point in development it seems they took a wrong turn and thus lost many players and also the interest of the media. And the many negative news seemed to point towards an imminent end.
But things are different. Firefall seems to want to try again and announces a port of the game for PlayStation 4 and mobile devices.
In a statement, it says, “Red 5 Studios values the Firefall brand and will continue to develop the game as well as they can. Additionally, they are working to bring the IP to other platforms such as PlayStation 4 and mobile.”
The statement from Firefall is already a month old at this point, but it has only recently come to the media outlets.
