Arcstriders have simply more fun in Destiny 2. Players have now found a combination of weapon, armor, and class perks that allows the Arcstrider Hunter to deal incredible melee damage. This build is currently being used to take down Riven from the “Last Wish” raid in close combat.
Which build is it? A new build for the Arcstrider is the talk of the Destiny 2 community. This leverages the perk Double-Punch and other gear to significantly increase melee damage.
The strategy is not entirely new. The perk Double-Punch could already be found in the Season of the Outlaw on the shotgun “One More Last Stand.” Now with the Season of Opulence, the shotgun “Emperor’s Courtesy” has come into play, which also features the perk.

What do you need for it? To get the most out of this build, you need the following three things:
- An Arcstrider Hunter with the top skill tree “Way of the Warrior”
- A shotgun with the perk Double-Punch: “One More Last Stand” from the Gambit mode Reckoning or “Emperor’s Courtesy” from the raid Last Wish
- The exotic Hunter gloves Liar’s Handshake
The top skill tree of the Arcstrider features the perk Combo Strike, which grants a temporarily increased melee damage and triggers health regeneration as soon as an enemy is eliminated.
This is combined with the perk Double-Punch of the shotguns: If an enemy is hit by each shotgun pellet of a shot, the melee damage is increased for a short time.

In addition, there are the exotic gloves Liar’s Handshake. With the perk Counterpunch, Guardians who use their Arc melee ability or get hit by a melee attack can follow up with a very powerful melee counterattack that even heals.
Depending on which shotgun is used, how many melee attacks are made, and how many shots hit, the damage can increase with all buffs to over 1.8 million, as Ehroar from the Clan Redeem calculates in his video:
Arcstriders can already run a mission with infinite super through the Tribute Hall on consoles.
How to use the combo? With this combination, you can certainly impress your teammates in any strike. However, some truly crazy players, including the usual suspect Slayerage, use this tactic to take down Riven, the final boss of the Last Wish raid, solely in melee combat.
As the player Baxlyy reports on Twitter, he even managed to accomplish this endeavor last night. However, it took over 50 hours in-game.
