The Division 2 has apparently fulfilled a major fan wish and integrated a flashlight into the game. Or at least something similar. Here’s how you get it.
What’s the deal with the flashlight? Ever since the release of The Division 2 there has been a community wish for a flashlight. Because nights in Washington D.C. can be very dark. There are also numerous corners that are so dark that you can’t see anything at all. It is often difficult to recognize items or enemies.
Therefore, fans have repeatedly expressed the desire for a flashlight or a night vision device. Developer Massive has now at least partially fulfilled this wish.
You can now find a flashlight in the game, but it is not a gadget; it is part of a very special backpack trophy. We’ll show you how to get the trophy and what makes it special.
A dangling cat light
This is the trophy: The backpack trophy is a cat holding a flashlight in its mouth. But that alone does not make the trophy special.
It is rather the lighting effect that makes the entire backpack trophy glow white. So players have at least partially received their flashlight.
Whether the developers intended for the entire trophy to shine so brightly is currently unknown.
Here’s how to get it: What is certain is that you can get the trophy in the story mission “Lincoln Memorial”. However, this is not guaranteed and only occurs under certain circumstances, as players have discovered.
In the mission, there is already a backpack trophy (the Lincoln bust), which can be found at a Lincoln statue. Apparently, the cat flashlight can be found right nearby.
- Reports on Reddit about this are contradictory, as not everyone gets the trophy immediately.

- Others had to replay the mission with a new character to get it.
- Some speculate that you only get the trophy if you have already found the Lincoln bust.
So it is certain that you need to play the Lincoln Memorial mission up to the Lincoln bust to reach the find location.
