The fantasy MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV is getting a TV series in Japan.
If you hear “MMORPG” and “TV series” in one sentence, you probably first think of World of Warcraft and that Activision is planning a kind of “Game of Thrones in Azeroth”. But it is something quite different.
In Japan, a player of Final Fantasy XIV runs a blog where he writes about his 60-year-old father discovering Final Fantasy XIV for himself. The mutual love for the MMORPG nourishes the bond between father and son.

The TV series now wants to bring the story from the blog to the screen and mix scenes from the real world with images from the game. The TV series is set to be called “Final Fantasy XIV: Daddy of Light”.
