Final Fantasy XIV: PlayStation 4 players can join this weekend

New consoles are great – more power, new games, great graphics! The big downside, however, are the old games that can no longer be played. But this weekend, all proud owners of a Playstation 4 can finally test the online role-playing game Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn in action. To ensure everything goes smoothly while gaming on Friday, we have a few tips for you:

Play version 1.62 of the PS4™ system software, otherwise you will need to catch up on this by the time you start the game.
If you already own FFXIV: ARR for PC or Playstation 3, log in to your Sony Entertainment Network account, otherwise
Download the simple beta version and install it from the PlayStation®Store.
Owners of the Windows version must now link their Square Enix account with the Sony Entertainment Network account, unless you have already done this during the first beta.
If you have played FFXIV: ARR on Playstation 3 so far, you will need to sign in to the appropriate Square Enix account to access all your characters.

Now you can test the game thoroughly!

If you have multiple user accounts – for instance, separate ones for PC and Playstation, you should be careful to link the correct Square Enix account with your Sony Entertainment Network account – as currently, you cannot undo this process!

A few general notes to conclude:

This weekend, you will have access to all the usual worlds.
You can also play on one of the three new worlds Mana, Aether, or Chaos – but you cannot transfer an existing character there!
Your characters created in the beta can be continued afterward.
