On December 16, 2025, Patch 7.4 of Final Fantasy XIV goes live. Here you can read about the content that awaits you in addition to the new main story.
When does Patch 7.4 go live? Patch 7.4 Into the Mist is expected to go live on December 16, 2025, at 11 AM German time. However, not all new content will be released immediately with the update. Additional new content will be available in spring 2026 with Patch 7.41 and Patch 7.45.
What major contents have been announced so far? The following patch contents will be playable directly with 7.4:
- New main story quests
- New dungeon Mistwake
- New trial Hell on Rails
- New raid Arcadion – Heavyweight Division
- New PvP frontline campaign: Worqor Chirteh
- Glamour restrictions will be completely lifted

The essentials about Patch 7.4, 7.41, and 7.45 – With FFXIV into the New Year
The most important information about the new contents: Since Patch 7.4 starts just before the end of the year, the epic version of the new raid will be delayed. Anyone wishing to grind Arcadion – Heavyweight Division (Savage)
for the best gear will have to wait until January 6, 2026. The three-week delay is justified by the festivities and holidays of many cultures around Christmas and New Year.
On December 16, 2025, all glamour restrictions will also be lifted. This means that from now on, any equipment can be projected onto any class or job. In practice, this means that a Paladin can now be dressed in healer gear. Alternatively, they can also wear crafter clothes.
For Occult Crescent, there will be three new phantom jobs ready for the official patch day: Paladin, Dancer, and Gladiator. There will also be new items to help explore the island.
Upgrades for the current relic weapons, the phantom weapons, will only be available in 2026 with Patch 7.41. This update will also bring new content for the Cosmic Exploration. This includes new upgrades for the cosmic equipment. Notably, the new planet Oizys will need to be built up similarly to the moon.
Patch 7.45, on the other hand, brings even more incredible Hildibrand Adventures as well as the new Variant Dungeon The Merchant’s Tale
