In Final Fantasy XIV, the inventory is significantly larger with Stormblood. Now we know the exact details. Additionally, there is information about the new raid, the housing system, and first images of new armor from Stormblood.
It is the curse of Final Fantasy XIV: The inventory is simply too small, especially when you are actively playing multiple classes and suffer a bit from the “I can’t throw anything away” role-playing messiness. And who doesn’t?
In the latest Live Letter for Final Fantasy XIV, we learn just how much larger the inventory will be with Heavensward.
Much more space!
- The “normal inventory” will gain 40 additional slots.
- In the Arsenal, each armor category will be upgraded by an additional 10 slots.
Housing and Raid – with Stormblood
Where this information comes from, there is much more. We summarize the most important points from the latest Producer Letter.
- The new housing zone in Shirogane can be visited right with the Stormblood launch, but nothing can be purchased yet. When new plots become available, a relocation system is expected to be implemented as well.
- Two new hairstyles are coming. But no “bun.” If enough players request it, it might be added later.
- The raid won’t be released with Stormblood, but two weeks later. The Savage version will take another two weeks longer.

Faster ground mounts are coming
- With Stormblood, faster ground mounts will be introduced. The slowest speed will be what we currently have. Once you complete the main storyline quest in an area, you will unlock the second speed tier for that area. There will also be a third tier when you have completed “something specific.”
- The assistant will level up to 70. They will also be able to become Red Mages or Samurai.
