With Patch 5.35, the new upgrades for the special weapons of the Resistance are now available in Final Fantasy XIV. Here you will learn how to upgrade the weapons to the current maximum level.
To unlock the next step for upgrading your Resistance weapon, you first need to start the next quest in the questline concerning the Queen’s Guard in Gangos by speaking with Marsak (X: 6.4 Y: 5.7) and accepting the quest “Operation Nest-Raider”.
This will unlock the Southern Front of Bozja and a new quest, which allows you to continue your journey to upgrade the “Relic Weapon” from Shadowbringers.
To upgrade your weapon, you need to bring Zlatan in Gangos (X: 6.1 Y: 4.9) certain items called “Memory Clumps.” There are 3 different types, of which you need 20 each:
- Memory Clump of Sorrow
- Memory Clump of Pain
- Memory Clump of Fear
You will receive these when you complete skirmishes and Critical Engagements in the area of the Bozja Southern Front. However, you can also obtain them from FATEs in specific zones of Heavensward:
- Memory Clump of Pain can be farmed in the Western Highlands of Coerthas and the Abalathian Sea of Clouds
- Memory Clump of Sorrow in the Dravanian Forelands and the Rolling Mist
- Memory Clump of Fear can be found in the Hinterlands of Dravanian and in Azys Lla.
Once this step is completed, you can return to Zlatan and continue with the next step called “The Maxim is Bravery.”
This step ensures that your Resistance weapon shines beautifully. For this, you need 6 Memory Clumps of Fury. You will obtain these again from the Bozja Southern Front or from any dungeons at level 60.
However, you must run these dungeons with a group. At the end, you will receive one Memory Clump per run.
