In the fantasy MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV, players can create characters of the new race Au Ra as early as Monday. There is also a new benchmark for the PC.
Heavensward, the new expansion for Final Fantasy XIV, casts its shadow ahead. It looks really impressive. As announced in a producer letter, players will be able to create characters of the new race Au Ra starting on Monday. These are the ladies and gentlemen who have a touch of dragon in their DNA.
However, scholars argue about this, as there are only slight differences between dragon men and dragon women. But with the Au Ra, these differences are pronounced: The ladies are significantly more delicate and smaller than their male counterparts. Additionally, Au Ra can hear with their horns, unlike dragons.
The benchmark is set to be released at 4:00 PM Japanese time, which means it’s only time for breakfast Knoppers for us.
The new heroes can already be created and saved. This is done with the “new” benchmark tool. However, this is only available for PC. The benchmark is supposed to be, as one can see here, quite a feast for the eyes. I’m curious which PC can handle it smoothly.
Players will be able to switch between the current DX9 and the later DX11 in the benchmark. Support for DX 11 is also supposedly coming with Heavensward on June 23.
