In Final Fantasy XIV , several improvements are planned for the time after Stormblood. A “transmog” system with a wardrobe is certainly conceivable, and the astrologian will soon face the nerf hammer.
Final Fantasy XIV and its game director Naoki Yoshida are currently making the rounds to garner attention for the June expansion “Stormblood”.
At PAX East in Boston, there was a live stream on Twitch where Yoshida answered fans’ questions. The US site mmorpg summarized it. Fans were also able to follow up on reddit.
A wish that fans have had for a long time, which was once planned for patch 2.2, is a revamped “transmog” or “glamour” system. A kind of wardrobe, that stores the appearance of gear items. With the wardrobe, you could apply the appearance of once saved items to new gear. Then you could discard your favorite style items and not have to keep them forever. This would save a lot of space.
According to Naoki Yoshida: This is a possibility. But there are currently so many UI improvements that it’s not at the top of the priority list. Once the UI changes are managed, this wardrobe system could be implemented.
The Astrologian can do too much, the White Mage becomes redundant through him
Things look much more concrete for the astrologian. He is likely to be nerfed with Stormblood or even before that. The astrologian is currently the best healer in Final Fantasy XIV and provides support. This makes the “normally” best healer, the White Mage, redundant.
Therefore, plans are to change this soon: The White Mage should regain its place at the top of the “pure healers,” and the astrologian will be a support healer. This way, both jobs have their justification.
With Stormblood, the “Deep Dungeon” system is set to continue. However, it is not yet known whether this will take place again in the Palace of the Dead, the current “endless dungeon,” or in a new one. The Deep Dungeon expansion will also not occur with the release of Stormblood, but later.
Until Stormblood arrives, there’s still a lot going on:
