Is FIFA Street included in FIFA 18 ? A “leak” from Gamescom shows: Yes!
At this moment, a tweet from the German FIFA YouTuber PhineasFIFA is causing a stir in the Reddit forum: He is currently at Gamescom 2017 and tweeted with excitement: “Dude, FIFA 18 is coming back with FIFA Street”. He also released this video, which is supposed to show a short clip from the Street mode in FIFA 18:

So far, there has been no official statement from EA Sports regarding the nature of these recordings. It is not officially confirmed that there will be a standalone Street mode in FIFA 18 – on the contrary: Mat Prior, the Creative Director of FIFA 18, stated in June that FIFA Street will not return in FIFA 18. EA Sports is aware that many players wish for the return of this mode. FIFA Street may come back another year.
In the meantime, another tweet has surfaced online that could explain Phineas’s tweet: IamFrensh writes that this street football is part of the new story mode in FIFA 18, from “The Journey: Hunter Returns”.
Currently, everything indicates that you will be able to play a bit of street football in FIFA 18’s story mode.
What is FIFA Street actually?
FIFA Street is a spin-off of the FIFA series from EA Sports. The first part of FIFA Street was released in 2005 on PlayStation 2, Xbox, and GameCube. The most recent installment came out in 2012 on PS3 and Xbox 360. Since then, fans have been waiting for a version for the current console generation.
Unlike the “regular” FIFA series, FIFA Street is played not on grass but on the street. The playing fields are significantly smaller, and the team size is also reduced. FIFA Street places a strong emphasis on various tricks with the ball.
No further information about FIFA Street in FIFA 18 is currently available. EA Sports may make announcements in the near future. Until then, it should be noted: All information should be taken with a good measure of caution.
Update: EA confirmed that the scenes are from the story mode in FIFA 18. There is no standalone FIFA Street mode.
