EA is working on a FIFA game for the new console Nintendo Switch.
On March 3, Nintendo’s new console hybrid hits the shelves: Nintendo Switch. This device can be used as a home console and as a handheld. Mobility and the social aspect are in the foreground.
The exciting question remains: Which games will be released this year for the Switch, and can they convince the customers? EA provides an answer to the former question.
FIFA on the go
At the press conference for the Nintendo Switch, EA’s Patrick Söderland announced that a FIFA title for the Switch is in development. This game is expected to be released later this year. An official name for FIFA on the Switch has not yet been announced.
It is still unknown whether FIFA 17 will receive Switch support, whether it is a standalone Switch game, or whether FIFA 18 represents the announced game.
Due to the special features of the Switch and the online service, it will be possible to play this FIFA online on the go. According to Söderland, it will be the most social and authentic sports game ever on Nintendo. It is meant to deliver an experience tailored to the Switch. The social features will be utilized.

By the way, since FIFA 15, there have been no FIFA games on a Nintendo console. EA Sports essentially boycotted the Wii U and refused to produce for this console. Now, EA and Nintendo apparently found each other again.
