EA has done it again. They simulated the FIFA World Cup with the help of FIFA 23 and indeed predicted the correct winner once more.
The FIFA World Cup is over and Lionel Messi was able to win the title with his Argentinians and raise the coveted trophy to the sky of Qatar yesterday Sunday. But this is no surprise for EA Sports.
The development studio confidently announced the winner even before the start of the desert World Cup. They predicted at that time that Argentina would prevail and have already correctly predicted the World Cup winner an incredible four times in a row.
For they were already right in 2010, 2014, and 2018 with their predictions.
What a simulation it was! The simulation by EA Sports includes much more than just the tournament winner. They even showed a complete tournament bracket with top scorers and other awards in an overview (via EA).
However, the predictions here were somewhat weaker. Instead of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé was the player with the most World Cup goals. However, they were also correct with the winner of the golden glove, Emiliano Martínez, as well as the best player of the tournament, Lionel Messi.
But the final turned out quite differently than EA expected. Instead of playing against Brazil, Argentina played the final against France. The Brazilians were already eliminated in the quarter-finals.
The community is amazed by the correct prediction

- Hugott: “That is more than strange.”

But not only EA predicted Argentina as world champion. A French gaming journalist also simulated the tournament using FIFA 23:
