When will the World Cup update for FIFA 23 be released? EA Sports announced that the start of the World Cup content is set for November 9. From then on, features such as the ‘Tournament mode’ should be available.
In Ultimate Team, new content related to the World Cup will also be added. However, this part will mostly start on November 11.

World Cup content for FIFA 23 comes with Title Update 3 and Season 2 in FUT
What does FIFA 23 get in the World Cup update? The game will receive various content related to the World Cup. This includes:
- The ‘Tournament mode’
- Here you can replay the tournament – either with the 32 qualified teams or with some other teams that did not qualify.
- There is also the online tournament, where you can compete against other players
- The FIFA World Cup Kick-off
- As in the regular ‘Kick-off’ mode, you can play against friends or the AI
- FIFA World Cup: Live
- This mode is based on the real tournament. In it, you can replay matches in various formats. However, the World Cup starts only on November 20, and the mode will be updated then.
- Two new stadiums
- A new soundtrack featuring some of the most popular songs from recent years
What happens in Ultimate Team? Also, in FUT, some content related to the World Cup will appear. This includes:
- Time-limited player cards of stars who are in the World Cup squads. These are only available until January 4 and will be removed afterwards. They are marked with a timer symbol.
- But there will also be permanently improved special cards in events during the upcoming Season 2.
In addition, there will be:
- The FIFA World Cup Exchange
- Works similarly to the Icon Swap from older games: Earn World Cup player items that you can earn and exchange them for rewards. You can also collect duplicates.
- The FUT Heroes will get a new form, the World Cup heroes in Marvel style.
- If you pre-ordered the Ultimate Edition before August 21, you will receive a World Cup Hero as a bonus on November 11
- Rewards at the end of the World Cup event
- From November 11, you can earn and collect player items
- The more you collect, the more you rise in the 10 reward tiers of the event
- Starting January 4, these can be redeemed
