You can now get Showdown Mario Götze in FIFA 22. We will show you here which requirements you need to meet for the card.
Where is the card available? The new Mario Götze card was released as part of the “Showdown Series”. This means: You can obtain the card through a Squad Building Challenge and do not have to draw it from packs or buy it on the transfer market.
The special feature of Showdown Mario Götze: As part of the Showdown Series, the Mario Götze card is tied to a real game: Namely the Conference League quarter-final between PSV Eindhoven and Leicester on Thursday evening, April 7, 2022.
If Götze’s club, PSV Eindhoven, wins this match, the card will receive an upgrade of +2 points. If the match ends in a draw, the card will get +1 point – just like its counterpart, Harvey Barnes from Leicester. There will be no upgrade if they lose.
But even without an upgrade, Götze already has strong stats: He excels in almost all offensive attributes, but does not contribute much defensively. The card also has 4 stars for weak foot and skill moves.
The solution for Showdown Mario Götze is very simple
Getting Götze is that easy: Many squad-building challenges require a lot of cards from you, some of which are very expensive. But the Götze SBC comes with really very simple requirements.
- At least 1 player from Germany
- At least 1 TOTW player
- 84 team rating
- 60 team chemistry
These stats can be quickly achieved in an SBC, as 60 team chemistry does not require too many links. The 84 team rating is also relatively easy for many players to achieve by using existing cards from their club that are not currently in use.
The majority of the SBC costs will likely come from the required TOTW card if you don’t have a suitable one at the moment. We recommend buying a TOTW card in the range of 84 or 85 if you want to do it cheaply. Many cards in this range cost between 22,000 and 25,000.

Who is the card worth it for? Götze can of course fit well into Eredivisie teams, although they are unusual. However, due to his nationality, he is also a great option for creating hybrid teams in Bundesliga squads.
Of course, there is a risk that Götze will not get an upgrade if Eindhoven loses against Leicester. But if his team wins, you can secure a cheap 90-rated card here.
