The big Winter Refresh in FIFA 20 has started. We show you all the players who have received an upgrade, the Winter Refresh Team and the Prime Icon Moments cards here.
This is the Winter Refresh: This event in Ultimate Team reacts to the current events in real football. Here’s what you can get:
- The winter upgrades, meaning players who receive better stats
- New Prime Icon Moments cards
- The Winter Refresh Team
We show you here all the cards affected by this event. Some players are now significantly better and might earn a place in your team.
The Winter Upgrade cards in FUT 20
These are the winter upgrades: If a player has shown performances with their team in the first half of the season that exceed EA’s assessment, the developers may have made adjustments here.
A total of exactly 50 players are affected. These are the players who have been improved by at least 3 points.
The most important players in the winter upgrade: We show you some cards that have been significantly improved:
- Timo Werner from 83 to 86
- Jamie Vardy from 82 to 85
- Erling Haaland from 73 to 79
- Florian Niederlechner from 74 to 77
- James Maddison from 79 to 82
- Achraf Hakimi from 79 to 82
- Onyinye Ndidi from 81 to 84
- Marcus Thuram from 75 to 80
- Denis Zakaria from 78 to 81

Additionally, some special cards also benefit from the winter upgrades. For example, owners of POTM Werner can look forward to an improved overall rating.
The Winter Refresh Team – All new cards
This is the Winter Refresh Team: It simply consists of improved cards of certain players. You can now pull them in packs.
There are 3 Bundesliga players who have made it into this team: Cunha from Hertha BSC, Schulz from BVB and Victor from VfL Wolfsburg.

What about new OTWs? These special players do not seem to be part of the Winter Refresh. They were likely replaced by the Winter Refresh Team.
All Prime Icon Moments in Ultimate Team
What are Prime Icon Moments? These are better versions of the normal icon cards. EA aims to celebrate certain actions of the icons again and therefore provides them with the best possible Icon cards currently available.
These are the Prime Icon Moments: A total of 59 of these special cards are now available. Among them are also German players, such as Klose, Ballack, and Matthäus. Highlights are likely Pelé and Maradona, as they each get a 99-rated card – it doesn’t get any better than that!

New storyline players available: Finally, there are also new players that you can earn through the storyline. EA features Politano from Napoli. It is currently unknown if there are any other players.
