FIFA 20 has received a comprehensive update today. Title Update 12 sends you to South America – and also brings a lot of new content with it.
When is the update live? The update will be available today on all platforms simultaneously, instead of first going live on PC.
What’s in the update? It is a larger update than usual. In addition to some bug fixes, it also brings extensive new content, which we will briefly present here.
Copa, Riquelme & Overload Ball Side
This is the Copa in FIFA 20: The new update brings the CONMEBOL Libertadores to FIFA 20. There you can play for the title with big South American teams like
- River Plate
- Boca Juniors
- Flamengo
- Racing Club
- C.A. Independiente
- Millonarios
- Universidad Católica.
On one hand, this takes place in the new “CONMEBOL Libertadores” tournament mode, but also in the adjusted kickoff mode and in career mode. Additionally, two new stadiums and authentic atmosphere are included.
New icons: Apparently we can also expect new icons for Ultimate Team. Riquelme was the first to be revealed, who will complement the Ultimate Team roster. Here’s what his card looks like:
Whether the list of icons in FIFA 20 will be expanded with even more names thanks to the update will be shown in the coming days.
Strong tactics will be nerfed: In addition to the new content, balancing is also being worked on. The tactic “Overload Ball Side” will now cost more stamina.
This tactic was not particularly popular with many players – when they played against it. With it, the defense always shifts towards the ball and consistently blocks the attacking paths. This made it almost impossible to get through – and it was labeled overpowered by many players. It’s possible that the additional stamina costs will now balance this out. You can see how the tactic affects the game here:
Therefore, there should be less trouble with the tactics. Speaking of trouble: Recently, there was a strange story in FIFA eSports:
