The Team of the Season event has a great tradition in FIFA Ultimate Team. Since FUT 12, it has been a staple of Ultimate Team. It’s starting up again soon.
What is the TOTS event? The TOTS event (Team of the Season) is arguably the biggest event of the FIFA year, where the best players of the season are honored and released in various teams as TOTS cards.
The cards receive extreme boosts and are considered endgame cards. Only TOTY and Icon cards have similarly strong values to offer.

Estimated Release and Duration of the Event
When does it start? There has not been an announcement from EA yet, but a release could happen at any time. The event is most likely to start on one of the following Fridays. We expect the event either on May 3 or May 10.
How long does the event last? Normally, the event lasts about 5 weeks; we expect a similar duration this year.
The TOTS events of the previous years:
- FIFA 18 – 27.04. – 04.06
- FIFA 17 – 12.05 – 30.06
- FIFA 16 – 29.04 – 10.06
- FIFA 15 – 20.05 – 02.07
- FIFA 14 – 23.04 – 30.05
- FIFA 13 – 08.05 – 23.06
- FIFA 12 – 12.05 – 02.06
The Possible Contents of the Event
What cards will there be? Here we can only speculate; however, the last years have shown that the TOTS events always follow a similar pattern. So it was in FUT 18:
Last year the event started with a TOTS team for the English 2nd division as well as with the community team, for whose players the community was responsible.
Subsequently, EA released a new TOTS team from the 5 major leagues in Europe each week. Each team consisted of 23 player cards. There were teams for these leagues:
- Premier League
- Bundesliga
- Ligue 1
- Serie A
- La Liga
At the end of the TOTS event, the ultimate Team of the Season appeared with the best players from the previous TOTS teams of FIFA 18.
Will there be SBCs? It is likely that there will also be a variety of SBCs in FIFA 19. Last year in 2018, you could only obtain the TOTS Rest of the World players through SBCs, as these players were not included in the regular TOTS teams.
Weekly objectives should also be expected, allowing you to earn player cards without spending coins.
The Transfer Market Goes Crazy
Sell your top cards beforehand: During the TOTS event, prices typically crash significantly. Many FUT players sell their cards at this time to have coins for the new, fantastic TOTS cards.
Therefore, it is wise to sell your top cards before the event. Because during the ongoing event, almost all cards lose value.
Saving is worth it: Many FUT players have been looking forward to the TOTS event for weeks and save their coins and even packs. This can definitely pay off. Especially in saved packs, one can hope for TOTS players during the event.
How to Get the Cards
How to get the cards: The special cards are found in packs during the event. The TOTS cards replace their normal versions. The odds of pulling these players do not change.
Additionally, there will be the opportunity to buy the cards on the transfer market.
