On Thursdays, the Weekend League Rewards are available in FIFA 19. However, this week the players were surprised: The game shocked everyone with tiny coin amounts as rewards – only afterwards were the real rewards given out. The FIFA community takes it with humor.
This is what happened: As every Thursday, FIFA players who participated in the Weekend League wanted to claim their well-deserved rewards. Normally, depending on the rank, players receive various packs, FUT Champions Points, and at least 1000 coins.
But this Thursday, a nasty surprise awaited: Instead of the usual rewards, the screen displayed tiny coin amounts as rewards.
For example, user “ShapeShifter400” was delighted to receive a whole 9 coins as a reward:

This is how the community reacted: On Twitter and Reddit, many users posted their rewards – and reacted humorously: “Man, you were lucky. I only got seven,” a player commented on ShapeShifter400’s post.
Another feels disadvantaged: “I’m tired of grinding all weekend to finish as high as possible and then seeing a Silver 1 loser get 12 coins. I bet there were enough Top 100 players who didn’t get even 10.”
Others didn’t even participate in the Weekend League but still received an incredible amount of 1 to 12 coins credited. They are now happy about the unexpected windfall: “Great, now I just need 2,388,989 coins,” comments one who seems to be already eyeing the transfer market.
Looking ahead to the upcoming TOTY event, some announce their next commitment: “I have 11 coins! Just a few million more for TOTY Messi.”
Real rewards came shortly after
That’s why fans took it with humor: The fact that players took the tiny rewards lightly is because the correct rewards were credited just seconds later. The initial shock was followed by relief – and fun regarding the strange EA error with the rewards.
As usual, there were also Player Picks, this time featuring players from the TOTW 16 – such as Rashford or Milinkovic-Savic.
Of course, as every week, there were disappointed gamers who didn’t pull the hoped-for players from the packs. But at least they could enjoy the free coins. Like the player “PS4_Gerdinho90,” who can now even forgive the past mistakes of the game with a wink: “Guys, we were finally compensated!”
