In FIFA 19 you play as Alex Hunter in the Real Madrid kit, as his journey in “The Journey 3” takes him to this club. Real Madrid now offers official Alex Hunter jerseys.
In FIFA 19, the story of Alex Hunter ends: The protagonist from the story mode “The Journey” embarks on his final adventure in FIFA 19. According to EA Sports, the story of young Alex Hunter, which began in FIFA 17, concludes with the third part called “The Journey: Champions”.
What does Real Madrid have to do with it? As it has now been revealed, Hunter transfers to Real Madrid in the final Journey installment. There, he gets to don the new Real Madrid jersey and compete for the Champions League title.
EA Sports released this short trailer, with a link hidden in the Twitter description – which leads directly to the Real Madrid shop.
Alex Hunter jersey is now available for purchase
Apparently, there is a marketing deal between Real Madrid and EA Sports. Official jerseys of Alex Hunter from FIFA 19 can now be found in the official store of the Royals:
The jersey has “Hunter” printed on it and bears the number 29. This is the number that Hunter wore on his back in the previous Journey installments. In the Real Madrid shop, the official “FIFA 19” logo is displayed at the top left next to the offer.
What is the cost? For this special jersey, one has to dig deep into their pockets. The Hunter home jersey costs a hefty 145 Euros. For other jersey variants, prices range between 70 Euros (youth jersey) and 160 Euros (Long Sleeve Authentic).
These prices correspond to the prices of the “normal” jerseys from Real Madrid if one wants them customized. If a “non-authentic” jersey is desired, the standard jerseys are also available for 90 Euros.
You can access the Real Madrid shop’s Hunter page here. In addition to the white jerseys, there are also ones in black (away jersey) and red (third jersey).
Whether someone is such a big Alex Hunter fan that they choose to buy an authentic Real Madrid jersey for 145 Euros is something each person can decide for themselves …
What do you think of this marketing action? Do you celebrate it or consider it a huge fail?
