We asked what you want most for FIFA 19. The result: Licenses are more important than changes to gameplay.
FIFA 18 is nearing the finish line with the “Team of the Season” and then the World Cup mode. Soon there will be first info about FIFA 19. Therefore, we have summarized the community’s wishes and asked which changes are most important to you.
The result was probably not what most expected due to the ongoing criticism of FIFA 18’s gameplay.
Most important to you: Licenses, Career and Pro Club mode
A total of 4300 people voted by May 6, 2018. Of those, 27% wanted more licenses like the Champions League or new leagues. And another 27% wanted a greater focus on Career and Pro Club mode.
- In particular, the Champions League is very important to the community. This vote was mainly expected to come from Career fans. The CL license would likely have little influence on Ultimate Team.
- The desire for more improvements in the Career and Pro Club modes was strongly expressed as expected. Fans have been complaining for years that the classic modes receive too little maintenance.
Update:

Gameplay improvements with surprisingly few votes
As a surprise, the low vote distribution for gameplay changes came to light. Only 12% wanted innovations for the pure in-game play. Due to the ever-louder criticism on forums like reddit, or also in the comments on Mein-MMO, we expected more votes here.

Nevertheless, over 500 people voted for gameplay changes. The following division emerged:
- “Less scripting, more freedom in gameplay” (7%)
- “Less sluggish, more controlled and faster” (3%)
- “Better defending” (2%).
Indoor or street mode highly desired
With 11%, just behind gameplay improvements stands the indoor mode or a new “FIFA Street” part. This choice was expected. The arcade modes are always at the top of the wish list for FIFA fans every year.
In the FIFA Street video, you’ll also see why. The gameplay is refreshingly different from the “normal” FIFA.
- Tricks are the focus and it is less tedious to play in tight spaces with walls and smaller goals.
- Smaller teams, the focus on dribbling and quick, short passes provide a less tactical but more explosive FIFA experience.
Additionally, there were various game modes in FIFA Street. These include:
- The classic “5 against 5”
- The “Panna rules” mode, rewarding tricks and nutmegging
- “Futsal”, which is played without walls
- And “Last Man”: With each goal, one of your players is taken off the field – the goal is to have no players left on the pitch
The mode has not much to do with actual club football. Nevertheless, it was also clear in the comments that you long for a “Trick Mode”.
The last indoor mode integrated into FIFA was more than 20 years ago. Fans were last able to select it in FIFA 98. And since then, this mode has stuck in many people’s minds.
These innovations are less important to you
After the four changes mentioned above that are most important to you, three innovations for the Ultimate Team mode follow:
- 5th place, 7%: Overhaul of the Weekend League
- 6th place, 6%: Removal of FUT pack fillers
- 7th place, 4%: Dynamic weather
- 8th place, 3%: More statistics
- 9th place, 1%: Overhauled chemistry system
Here too, the trend shows that you appreciate innovations in “Ultimate Team” significantly less than in other modes. All three “pure” FUT changes rank between 5-9. The dynamic weather, which according to ongoing rumors should be introduced in FIFA 19 (among others Sport1), is longed for by only a few.
