The most important thing first: The release date is September 28, 2018 and FIFA 19 will be available for PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Switch. And with the Champions Edition, you can even play FIFA 19 three days before release and gain additional advantages.

It comes in three versions, which differ in some features:

New Licenses – Which Leagues and Competitions are Coming?
Every year, EA strives for new official licenses to stay ahead of Pro Evolution Soccer.

New rights have already been secured for FIFA 19, which will be incorporated into Ultimate Team, including:
- UEFA Champions and Europa League: They come as their own game mode, into career mode and into “The Journey 3”
- Serie A: FIFA fans will no longer have to settle for Calcio A – Serie A is coming for FIFA 19
- Chinese Super League: The Chinese top league with Hulk, Paulinho, and Talisca has been confirmed
- The FIFA Women’s World Cup
- Extensive La Liga licenses with stadiums and head scans

Gameplay Innovations – What changes in FIFA 19 compared to FIFA 18?
Gameplay is still the most important aspect of a game, no matter how beautiful the graphics may look.
For FIFA 19, EA has thought of quite a few things. These gameplay changes await us:
- Finishing Timing: The new shooting system is supposed to reward risk and add precision as well as shot power. Here you can read our guide to Timed Finishing.
- Active Touch System: Improved ball control and reception are promised, along with new skill moves and tricks
- 50/50 Battles: This means more intense and frequent battles for loose balls
Overall, FIFA 19 plays significantly slower than its predecessor – one could say more realistically. According to EA, it now finally feels like “football should feel”.

Ratings – Player Ratings in FIFA 19
Every year the familiar question arises: Who should have a higher rating, Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi? The official and final ratings are now being announced:

General Innovations – Tactics, Animations
Also away from gameplay, there will be changes to FIFA 19. The biggest change was presented directly in June: The tactics system will receive a complete overhaul with called “Dynamic Tactics”.
According to EA’s gameplay producer, these “Dynamic Tactics” should be easy to use not only for pros but also for casual players.
Additionally, as always, the players will have an even stronger personality. This refers to animations such as movement when running or in duels. These are intended to be closer to reality through “Real Motion Player Technology” for the stars.
Further small changes were seen in gameplay videos:
- The HUD: Instead of circles for both teams, triangles and circles will now be used on the minimap to better distinguish them
- Player triangles: The defending team has a gray triangle above the passive player, which is the one selected during player change, in addition to the red triangle for the active player
- Goal kick: During goal kicks in offline matches against your friends, the camera will no longer rotate with it
- No more defensive block: The option to set to “Park the Bus” during the game will no longer exist
- The Video evidence will not be introduced in FIFA 19
Several new features will also affect the game overall:
- Improved goalkeepers for penalties
- Auto-tackling can be turned off
- New button mappings for volley and low-driven shots
- New skill moves

- The online seasons in FIFA 19 will be replaced by Division Rivals!
- The qualifications for the Weekend League are new.

- Another change comes with the sets. In FIFA 19, the chances for certain players will be displayed, as EA wants to make the pack contents more transparent.

FIFA 19 Career Mode, Pro Clubs, The Journey, Kick-off
There is a lot happening in FIFA 19 during kick-off. The biggest innovation is the Survival Mode, and EA is also bringing back a fun mode from FIFA 11 with the House Rules. You can find all other kick-off changes here:
In Career Mode and Pro Clubs, there is little to no change this year: There will be practically no innovations here.
