In a documentary by Bild about the FIFA commentators Frank Buschmann and Wolff Fuss, the first icons for FUT 19 were leaked.
Gullit and Maldini available again as FUT icons
Commentator quotes confirm icons. In a short video documentary about “Buschi” and Wolff Fuss, some quotes for FIFA 19 are mentioned. It primarily revolves around players, in this case, even about the first icons. Ruud Gullit and Paolo Maldini were mentioned by name, which is a clear sign that we can play with both icons again in FIFA 19.

Hint at a new German icon? A reddit user jokingly mentioned regarding another quote, that must be Rudi Völler. Presumably due to his viral quote “He never loved football.” Many Germans would welcome Völler as an icon, but several stars might be meant. Who do you think of with this commentator’s quote?

What icons does the community wish for FIFA 19?
It is likely that the icons from FIFA 18 will also be playable in FIFA 19. Nevertheless, EA will surely not miss the opportunity to advertise new icons. What are the community’s favorites?
A survey on fifplay with about 50,000 votes revealed the following distribution:
- Zinedine Zidane (34%)
- David Beckham (17%)
- Francesco Totti (7%)
- Ali Daei (5%)
- Hugo Sanchez (4%)
- Kaka (3%)
- Oliver Kahn (3%)
Philipp Lahm only received one percent, Michael Ballack, Rudi Völler, Steffen Effenberg, and Matthias Sammer did not even get that.
