FIFA 19 and the Juventus transfer: The transfer of Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus Turin surprised not only the entire football world but also EA Sports. Because this year’s FIFA installment FIFA 19 was already advertised with Ronaldo in the Real Madrid jersey. CR7 was even intended as the cover star.
Here you see the cover of FIFA 19 with Cristiano Ronaldo in the Royal jersey, which was actually intended:
EA Sports had to act: Since football in FIFA 19 is supposed to be depicted as realistically as possible – at least that’s how EA advertises it – the game cannot be released with a Ronaldo in the “wrong” jersey on the cover. A solution had to be found – and the solution is now known.
The new cover of FIFA 19 – Standard Edition
The graphic designers at EA Sports were allowed to present their professional Photoshop skills in recent weeks. Because for the new cover, the previous pose of Cristiano Ronaldo was maintained; he was simply dressed in the Juventus jersey.

Is this really the official cover of FIFA 19? Since the previous cover was merely revised, doubts could arise that this image is indeed the “real” cover. It could also have been created by a fan.
But yes, it is the “real” cover. On the official EA Sports FIFA website, this Ronaldo in the Juventus jersey has also been updated:
This is, by the way, the cover of the Standard version of FIFA 19.
The new cover of FIFA 19 – Champions Edition
The Champions Edition and the Ultimate Edition of FIFA 19, which you can preorder here, have a different cover featuring Ronaldo alongside Neymar. This is what it looks like with CR7 in Juventus attire:
The image shows the Champions Edition. The cover of the Ultimate Edition is similar, but here Ronaldo and Neymar are faded out.
FIFA 19 will be released on September 28 or on September 25, 2018, with early access on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Switch.
