Following the opening of this year’s Gamescom, the Gamescom Awards 2018 were presented. Among the winners are Destiny 2: Forsaken, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, and FIFA 19.
The Gamescom Awards 2018 honored games in a total of eleven genre and five platform categories this year. The winners of the genre and platform categories also have the chance to receive the main award “Best of Gamescom” from the jury during the fair.
FIFA 19, CoD and Destiny 2 among the winners
Upcoming titles win: More than 100 applications for the awards were received this year. Among the winners are Destiny 2: Forsaken, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, and FIFA 19.
Destiny 2: Forsaken is the first major expansion for Destiny 2 and will be released on September 4. Destiny 2 will be expanded with a new story, a new location, new activities, weapons, and armor. Forsaken was awarded the “Best Addon/DLC” award.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will be released on October 12 and will feature its own battle royale mode. The first beta phases for the shooter will take place in September. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 was awarded the “Best Social/Online Game” award.
FIFA 19 will be released on September 28 and will come with new stadiums, gameplay, and licenses. Additionally, the story mode “The Journey” will continue. FIFA 19 received the award for “Best Sports Game.”
