EA Sports is diligently collecting new licenses for FIFA 19 to represent other leagues. It has now been confirmed that the Chinese Super League is also included.
Update: You can find all leagues and all new leagues in this overview article:
Update, July 27: The rumors have been confirmed; the Chinese Super League will be available in FIFA 19 with all 16 teams.
Original article:
After the significant licensing coup with the Champions and Europa League as well as the Italian Serie A, another new league for FIFA 19 has likely been revealed: the Chinese Super League.
Although nothing has been officially confirmed from EA’s side, the indications strongly suggest that Hulk and Paulinho will also be playable in FIFA 19 Ultimate Team.
Shooting in China – for FIFA 19?
“Shanghai SIPG” player photographed by EA: The photos circulating on the web were reportedly published by the club’s press officer, Zhao Yuchen. They show Hulk in the club uniform during a photo shoot. His comment on this is:
Recently, EA Games Company took a special trip to take photos of our club’s players. In FIFA 19, you will see the likenesses of our team.
At least this club is certainly included in FIFA 19. Players from Hebei China Fortune and Shanghai Greenland Shenhua are also said to have already been captured by EA.
Is the entire league licensed? Whether this really means that the Chinese Super League will be fully integrated is uncertain. EA has already included other clubs without having the entire league represented. These include Shakhtar Donetsk and Dínamo Kyiv from the Ukrainian league.
This is what the CSL means for EA and FUT
Popular players for Ultimate Team. Due to the high salaries, the Chinese Super League has become an attractive destination for footballers, especially Brazilians often move east. In addition to Paulinho and Hulk, among others Oscar, Talisca Carrasco, Witsel, Modeste, Gaitan, or Bakambu could be playable. The “Strong-Link” connection between Paulinho, Hulk, and Talisca is extremely interesting for starter teams.
EA conquers the Chinese market. In Asia, “FIFA Online” is currently the primarily played game, not the annual FIFA installment that is released here. The CSL license would be a significant step for EA to make inroads in the Asian market with FIFA 19. Exactly this strategy was mentioned by EA’s CEO Andrew Wilson in the spring when he aimed for the license for the Chinese Super League.
Although it isn’t even August yet, there is already plenty of info about FIFA 19. You can find everything about licenses, changes, and gameplay in our overview!
