In FIFA 18, Alex Hunter returns! The story mode “The Journey”, introduced for the first time in FIFA 17, receives a sequel called “The Journey: Hunter Returns” or simply “The Journey 2”.
The first testers were able to completely play through the story mode in FIFA 18, as reported by gamesradar. They are now reporting on the most important milestones of the story and naming the rewards and gameplay duration.
About 14 hours of gameplay provided by The Journey in FIFA 18
In FIFA 18, the story around Alex Hunter continues. Hunter is a young football professional who is on his way to becoming a world star. In FIFA 17, he played his first season in the Premier League, where he made a stir. While it was possible to have a different season outcome if you played poorly, FIFA 18 continues the story ending in which Alex had an outstanding season.
In FIFA 18, you play Alex Hunter’s second season, which takes you to Brazil, the USA, and a European country of your choice (Germany, Spain, or France).
The entire story is divided into 6 chapters, with a reward for FUT 18 waiting for you at the end of each chapter.
According to gamesradar, the story should take about 14 hours to complete. However, it can be played faster or slower. This makes it about as long as The Journey from FIFA 17, which took about 16 hours.
Here are the rewards – all of them are for the “Ultimate Team” mode of FIFA 18:
- Chapter 1: 1x Real Madrid loan player and 1x MLS loan player
- Chapter 2: 1x Rio Ferdinand loan player
- Chapter 3: 1x Gyasi Zardes loan player
- Chapter 4: 1x Thierry Henry loan player
- Chapter 5: 1x Danny Williams (Permanent FUT card)
What rewards are there at the end of The Journey 2?
Once you have completed the sixth chapter and thus The Journey: Hunter Returns, you will receive four FUT rewards:
- 1x Alex Hunter (Permanent FUT card)
- 1x Antoine Griezmann loan player
- 1x Thomas Müller loan player
- 1x Dele Alli loan player
This means that after the story mode, you can continue to play with Alex Hunter. His journey continues in the Ultimate Team mode.
