The first players can already start the preload for FIFA 18. Some already have full access.
Every year countless players try to get their hands on the annual FIFA installment as early as possible. After all, every hour counts to gain advantages in Ultimate Team mode or in Pro Clubs. Those who start later are immediately at a disadvantage.
While there are no options to begin before the official release date with pre-orders in the console stores or via Origin, many players try their luck with their trusted retailers. Perhaps a dealer will release a “FIFA 18” disc early, granting the hoped-for early access.
As several users are reporting on the FIFA Reddit forum, some players already have full access to FIFA 18. That is, they already have a copy and can play the new football simulation unlimited. Some are even said to have showcased it in a livestream.

The reddit user TheAtlasLion9 recorded videos from “FIFA 18” livestreams and uploaded them to YouTube a few hours ago. Here you can see a video showing the start in FUT 18. The game is played on PlayStation:
The video looks “real.” It doesn’t appear to be fake. In the comments, users write that this is definitely real footage from FIFA 18. The question is: How can it be that some users can play already?
It is suspected that these players got early access to a disc version of FIFA 18. That’s the only explanation. This clip, showing FIFA 18 on Xbox, is also making the rounds:
The official release of FIFA 18 is actually set for September 29 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. A stripped-down version will also be released on PS3, Xbox 360, and Nintendo Switch. Those who pre-order certain editions can start with FIFA 18 on September 26. And those using the paid online services EA Access or Origin Access will get a 10-hour trial version of FIFA 18 starting September 21. This might explain why the servers are already online.

Preload phase for FIFA 18 begins
Since September 18, reports have increased that FIFA 18 can be downloaded from the stores. The preload has started. That is, some players can now download the necessary game data to be ready to go at launch.
Currently, it is unclear in which regions the preload is already available. Most reports of a pre-download on PS4 come from North America. The preload option is likely going live in different regions of the world gradually.
On Xbox, the preload is also reportedly already available for some players. According to user reports, it will start on PC via Origin on September 22.
