In FIFA 18, there is a major problem with the download via Origin. PC players are complaining that there is no download button and that the download is not working. What does EA say about this?
Today, on September 29th, is the official release day of FIFA 18! Those who pre-ordered a Ronaldo or an ICON edition of FIFA 18 can start playing the game three days earlier – but for owners of the standard edition, today is kickoff.
However, FIFA 18 is currently experiencing major issues on PC via Origin. Although the game should have been available for download since midnight, countless players in the FIFA forums are complaining that they cannot download FIFA 18.
No download button is available. The download via Origin is not working. The message appears that Origin is unable to download the game. Users are advised to check their internet connection or try again later.
Players have been complaining for hours, with countless posts and comments revolving around this issue.
After almost 15 hours, EA finally addresses this download disaster: They hear the users and are working on a fix:
It is not known how long it will take to resolve the issue.
A petition has already been launched by the community, calling for compensation from EA Sports. They are seeking Jumbo Packs or FIFA points for the Ultimate Team mode.
Finally, all players who already own FIFA 18 can gain advantages in this mode. Those starting with FUT 18 later will fall behind immediately.
The future will show whether EA Sports will respond to such petitions at all. For now, we can only hope that they will get the download function up and running soon.
