In FIFA 18 Ultimate Team, the first MOTM cards (Man of the Match) are live. In English, they are called the “Players of the Day” cards.
The “Ultimate Team” mode got a bit more colorful last night: Since January 27th at 1 AM, new orange cards are in the game, the MOTM cards.
MOTM stands for “Man of the Match”, and these cards are referred to in English as the Players of the Day.
Which players receive MOTM cards? These cards honor those players who delivered strong performances in a game but did not make it into the Team of the Week. Typically, matches from national or international cup competitions are considered. The best players of these matches are determined by EA Sports and rewarded with orange cards.
These are the “Man of the Match” cards in FUT 18 since January 27 – Ratings
Since January 27th, the first Players of the Day are in the sets. They are players who recently excelled in the Spanish cup competition:
- Ivan Rakitić | 87 > 88
- Pablo Sarabia | 80 > 85
- Jaume | 75 > 81
- Eraso | 74 > 80
These Players of the Day are available in packs until February 2nd.

MOTM cards are upgraded player cards. The overall ratings are increased by 1-2 points compared to the standard cards (or previous special cards) of the players. In some cases, the rating boost can be significantly higher, even changing the quality of the player.
The Players of the Day do not have fixed release dates. The first batch was revealed on January 27th. Most MOTM cards are expected to be released between March and July, as this is when important cup games take place.

- You get the MOTM cards by pulling them from packs or acquiring them on the transfer market. The chances of pulling an MOTM card are just as high as the chances of pulling the corresponding player at another time.
- If you already have a standard card of the player who receives a MOTM card, nothing happens to your card. It remains unchanged.
