The Third League and the DFB-Pokal are included in FIFA 18. This has now been officially confirmed by EA Sports.
Just a few weeks ago, Kicker reported that the third highest German league in professional football would be represented in FIFA 18. However, no specific sources were provided; instead, they referred to “Kicker information”.
Now Bild and Fussball.de are quoting official statements from EA and the DFB: Thus, not only is the 3rd League included, but also the DFB-Pokal.
All 20 teams of the third league in the 17/18 season in FIFA 18
According to an earlier statement from the DFB the German Football Association and EA Germany have long been interested in integrating the 3rd League into the FIFA series. However, it ultimately depends on the international corporate headquarters of EA which original licenses are used. For FIFA 18, it is now time.
According to the latest statements from EA, fans can now look forward to all current third league teams:
“The official DFB license includes all current twenty third league teams with over 500 players as well as the home and away kits. Traditional clubs like 1. FC Magdeburg, SC Preußen Münster, Hallescher FC, or FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt are therefore celebrating their FIFA debut”
If you want to lead FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt or another club from the 3rd League to the highest titles in FIFA 18, you can do this in Career Mode.
According to EA manager Björn Vöcking, the integration of the 3rd League fulfills one of the biggest wishes of the FIFA community. The passion for the local club shapes football culture around the world.
The DFB-Pokal is also included
In addition to the 3rd League, you can play the DFB-Pokal in FIFA 18 for the first time. You can go on a cup hunt both in Career Mode and in a separate mode.
EA has now released this trailer for the Third League:
