In FIFA 18, the first Prime versions of the Icons are available. You can now earn the cards through SBCs or pack them in Ultimate Team.

One of the biggest innovations in FUT 18 is the Icons, which are available on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Switch.
With these Icon cards, EA Sports brings back famous star footballers to the virtual pitch, who have shown outstanding performances in the past and left a lasting impression on the world football stage. These players are no longer active as professionals.
The special thing about these Icons is that each Icon has not just one, but three cards. These cards have different values, reflecting the various phases in the careers of the Icons. They have different images and can also have different positions.
The Prime versions of Alessandro del Piero, Rui Costa, and Marc Overmars
Two card versions of the Icons have been available in packs since the launch of FIFA 18. The third version is only available at specific times during the season. This is the “Prime ICON Version”, the best Icon version that you can obtain through SBCs and packs.

You have three options to get the Prime Icons:
- Through sets that may contain rare gold players. However, you need a lot of luck!
- Through Squad-Building Challenges (SBCs): In the SBCs, select the tab “ICONS”. Here you will find specific SBC groups. Only when you master all SBCs of a group will you receive the Prime ICON card as a reward (untradeable)
- Through SBCs (loan players): Loan player cards from these Prime Icons can also be earned. They can be used in 20 games.
Important: The loan player SBCs are only available for one week. They will expire on October 19. The other two options to obtain the Prime Icons will remain available according to EA Sports until the end of FIFA 18.
