In FIFA 18 Ultimate Team, you can play together again! The guest mode is now available – but with restrictions.
In recent years, it has always been possible to play online modes with a guest in FUT mode. This means that a friend grabs a second controller, signs in as a guest, and then you compete together against another random player.
In FUT 18, this was surprisingly no longer possible in FUT Online Draft and FUT Online Seasons. This angered numerous fans who promptly started a petition to demand the return of the guest mode from EA Sports. It was emphasized that many fans assumed when purchasing FIFA 18 that the guest feature was still in FUT. EA Sports had not said in advance that it would be removed.
Over 10,000 players have signed this petition – and today, on October 11th, EA Sports responds.
Guest mode is back in FUT 18
As EA Sports announces, they have heard the feedback from the community. The guest feature is now available again in FUT Online Seasons and FUT Online Draft on PS4, Xbox One, and PC in FUT 18.
This was accomplished through a server update; however, there are still display issues that need to be fixed with a later title update.
Here’s how the guest feature works:
- Search for an opponent in Online Draft or Online Seasons as usual.
- Once an opponent is found, you will see a screen like this:
- Now your guest must press the triangle button (PS4) or Y (Xbox) with a second controller to join as a guest. Make sure the controller is connected and signed in with an account beforehand.
- The guest has now joined, but this will not be displayed on the in-game screen. This display will be added later with an update.
- If you press triangle or Y again, the guest will be removed. So make sure to only press the button once.
- The player with the main controller now presses X or A to start the match. Now you can play the game together.
