In FIFA 18, the FUTTIES are coming. As every year, popular players will conquer the Ultimate Team with pink cards. You can find all the known information about the FUTTIES and how it went last year with us.
The probably last event for FIFA 18 starts on July 18th and will bring new cards to the Ultimate Team once again. The FUTTIES. Initial information is expected around 7 PM. We take a look at the proceedings of the event in FIFA 17.
What are FUTTIES? FUTTIES are pink cards of certain players. These are chosen by the community in SBCs and come with improved stats.
This is how the FUTTIES went down in FIFA 17
Through Squad Building Challenges, or SBCs, the FUTTIES were determined in 10 categories.
- For each category, EA Sports presented three candidates.
- With the completion of the respective FUTTIES nomination SBC you could vote for your favorite player.
- If you completed such an SBC, you were guaranteed a pink card from that player – however, this card had no altered values.
- In each category, the player with the most completed nomination SBCs won. The winner was then published in a separate winner SBC. This card received boosted values.
It will probably go this way again this year in FIFA 18. Once EA Sports announces the first voting period, you will have 72 hours to participate in the SBCs. After that, the winner SBC will be live for another 72 hours. Once the 72 hours are up, a new category will take its turn.
What is the duration of the event? The first SBC is expected to start today, July 18, and will last until August 24.
What categories are there?
In the FUTTIES of FIFA 17 there were 10 categories, which will likely be similar in FIFA 18. These were last available for selection:
- Rising Star: Which player has made the biggest improvement compared to the previous year?
- Two-Footed: Which player has the strongest “weaker foot”?
- The Maestro: Which player is the most creative?
- Long Shots: Which player makes the best shots from distance?
- One-Man Club: Which player is the most loyal to his club?
- Class is Permanent: Which player celebrates the biggest comeback?
- Heading: Which player makes the best headers?
- Engine of the Game: Which player is the biggest fighter on the pitch?
- Strong Backup: Which player is the best goalkeeper?
- Techniques: Which player has the best tricks?
- Tackling Strength: Which player is the best tackler?
The winners of the categories receive a boost to their values, usually 1-3 points. Also, the cards are pink. To receive a card, you must complete the SBCs; there is no other way. Each player can only be chosen once in a specific category.
