On September 29, 2017, the global release of FIFA 18 takes place. If you pre-order certain editions of FIFA 18, you can play the football simulation three days earlier.
Before a possible purchase, you can get your first impression of FIFA 18, as a demo version will launch in mid-September.
The following information about the FIFA 18 demo comes from the Xbox Store and the fifauteam site. They are not yet officially confirmed by EA Sports. We will update this article if necessary.
FIFA 18 Demo – When is it coming out? – Release, date, and time
In recent years, the demo has always been released two weeks before the release of the main game. The FIFA 17 demo came out on September 13, 2016, the FIFA 16 demo on September 8, 2015, and the FIFA 15 demo on September 9, 2014.
- According to a leak in the Xbox Store, the demo is supposed to be released again in mid-September, on September 12. It is supposed to be 7.3 GB in size. However, this is not officially confirmed yet.
Last year, EA Sports did not announce the time. Many had actually expected that the demo would be released in the morning, but it was only available in the evening on all platforms. The specific release time for the “FIFA 18” demo will likely be a surprise again.
The demo is available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Whether it will also come to the platforms Xbox 360 and PS3 is not confirmed yet. Because these platforms will also receive “FIFA 18” editions, but many innovations are missing.

The game modes of the FIFA 18 Demo
The demo offers only a few contents for you to test in advance.
There is
- the Kick-off Mode,
- The Journey: Hunter Returns
- and an overview screen with the most important new features that FIFA 18 includes.
In Kick-off Mode, you play matches with a half-time length of 4 minutes – Single player and “Against a friend”. You can set the difficulty from beginner to legendary. Already the Stubhub Center (Los Angeles) is known as one stadium. Home and away kits are selectable (the third kits are usually not available in the demo).
Additionally, you can play a short excerpt from “The Journey: Hunter Returns”. More info on this can be found in the link.
Note: Everything you achieve in the FIFA 18 demo will not carry over to the main game if you purchase the game.
