Black Friday is celebrated every year on the Friday after Thanksgiving in the USA – it marks the beginning of the Christmas shopping season. On this day, bargain hunters and deal seekers venture into stores and scour the Internet greedily to snag as many deals as possible for little money.
EA Sports usually does not miss this event to celebrate Black Friday in the “Ultimate Team” mode and to flood the store with a lot of pack offers. This event has been in FUT since FIFA 14.

Black Friday in FUT 18 – Release Date
This year, Black Friday falls on November 24. Therefore, it is certain:
- The “Black Friday” event in FUT 18 starts on November 24, 2017.
- The start time is 3 PM.
Black Friday 2017 – Offers in Ultimate Team
Update November 24, 3 PM – EA Sports shares first information about Black Friday:
- At 3 PM, the first flash round in the store begins
- At 3:30 PM, the first Flash SBC will be released. You have two hours for that.
- At 7 PM, new weekly objectives will be introduced. These will have “escalating prices”.
These are the special weekly tasks:
- Play 10 games in FUT this week and win 1 Premium Gold Pack and a Cyber Sale jersey (Untradeable)
- Play 20 games in FUT this week and win 1 Premium Electrum Player Pack (Untradeable)
- Play 30 games in FUT this week and win 1 Premium Gold Player Pack (Untradeable)
In addition, there are currently special packs in the store “Rare Gold Packs” for 25,000 coins (until 9 PM) and Jumbo Premium Gold Packs for 15,000 coins (lasts another 4 days). Since 4 PM, there are Rare Mega Packs for 55,000 coins for one hour.
The Black Friday in Ultimate Team will (now confirmed) proceed as follows:
- A new pack offer will come to the store every hour. This runs from Friday 3 PM to Saturday 3 PM.
- There will be “special” pack offers that occur very rarely.
- Flash SBCs will be released. These are squad-building challenges that you have a limited time to complete. In these challenges, you can create a team from your cards and exchange it for rewards.
- There will be special weekly objectives
- For a weekly objective, you will receive a exclusive Black Friday jersey.
- There will be no free packs.
In recent years, Black Friday in FUT has been criticized repeatedly. The reason: There were no real “bargains”. The standard packs were not offered at a discount; they cost as much as usual. There were only expensive pack offers that normally do not exist or are very rare. And when you have to spend 100,000 coins for a “pack offer,” you can’t really call it a bargain.
How does the transfer market behave on Black Friday?
In order for players to buy the Black Friday offers, they need coins. Therefore, they sell their cards before Black Friday, leading to many cards on the transfer market and thus a price drop.
In recent years, prices were lowest on the Thursday before Black Friday, rising again afterward. If you want to get a good deal on the transfer market, you can do so in the days leading up to Black Friday.
