FIFA 18 is approaching us quickly. Here are 15 details about the game that are already known.
FIFA 18 will be the 25th installment in the popular soccer simulation series by EA Sports. It builds on the foundation that FIFA 17 laid with the Frostbite engine and the story mode.
FIFA 18 – What is already known
The key information about FIFA 18 that is already known at a glance:
- FIFA 18 will be released worldwide on September 29, 2017. If you pre-order certain editions, you can start playing as early as September 26.
- Via EA Access and Origin Access, you can play FIFA 18 starting September 21.
- The platforms: PS4, Xbox One, and PC. There are also slimmed-down versions for PS3 and Xbox 360. Additionally, an adapted version of FIFA 18 will be released on the Nintendo Switch.

- For PS4, Xbox One, and PC, there are three different editions: The Standard, Ronaldo, and Icon Editions. These have various pre-order bonuses.
- On the cover of FIFA 18 is Cristiano Ronaldo.
- Alex Hunter returns in a continuation of the story mode. This is called “The Journey: Hunter Returns.” Alex is moving to new leagues.
- In FUT 18, there will be “Legends” on all platforms, now known as Icons. From FIFA 14 to FIFA 17, they were Xbox-exclusive.
- For FIFA 18, there is a marketing deal between EA and Sony. Previously, EA and Microsoft worked hand in hand with FIFA.
- Thanks to a new “Real Player Motion Technology,” players on the field are supposed to respond to your inputs faster and possess more personality.
- In addition to this “Real Player Motion Technology,” the most important new features are: Dramatic moments, authentic playing styles, and an engaging atmosphere.

- FIFA 18 will continue to feature women’s national teams.
- Many player faces have been (re)scanned.
- As new stadiums, the Falmer Stadium (Brighton), John Smith’s Stadium (Huddersfield), and Stubhub Center (Los Angeles) are already known.
- Which new leagues will be added is still unknown. However, the Chinese league will not be included.
- Those who played FIFA 17 will receive early access to the web app for FUT 18.
