Besides the “Team of the Year“, the TOTS phase is one of the most exciting times in the FUT year. At the same time, the TOTS period is likely the last big thing in FUT 17 – after that, eyes will already slowly turn towards FIFA 18.
Since FUT 12, EA Sports regularly releases the “Teams of the Season” towards the end of the league seasons. Over several weeks, numerous teams with upgraded player cards are released. The players that make it into these teams have shown outstanding performances in the current season, which EA recognizes with special cards in FUT 17. TOTS come to the “big” European leagues, but also to various smaller ones.
In contrast to the TOTY, the TOTS players are not selected based on their performances of the respective calendar year, but based on their performances in the league season.

Release of the Teams of the Season in Ultimate Team
An official release date for the first TOTS is now known:
- The first TOTS will be released on May 12 – at 7 PM. They are the “Most Consistent” teams.
Last year, the teams of the major leagues were always released on Fridays and were then available for a week in the sets. The smaller leagues come into packs on Tuesdays. Here are the expected – not yet official! – dates:
- May 12 to May 19: Most Consistent (Gold, Silver, and Bronze)
- May 16 to May 19: TOTS of the EFL
- May 19 to May 26: Premier League TOTS
- May 23 to May 26: Eredivisie TOTS and Pro League TOTS
- May 26 to June 2: Bundesliga TOTS
- May 30 to June 2: Jameel League TOTS and Süper Lig TOTS
- June 2 to June 9: Ligue 1 TOTS

What’s Coming with the TOTS in FUT 17?
Official Information:
On PS4, Xbox One, and PC, there will be a 24th TOTS Player for selected TOTS, which can only be won as a reward in a daily FUT Champions qualifying tournament. You cannot pull him from packs or purchase him on the transfer market. Such exclusive TOTS players that must be earned have already existed in FIFA 16.
Every Tuesday during the TOTS phase, there will be a Bonus Reward SBC for 72 hours. The more you complete, the bigger the bonus reward. If you master all six bonus SBCs, you will receive an Ultimate Pack that contains a guaranteed TOTS player (untradeable).
Additionally, there will be further special SBCs and “much more”.
More Information about the Team of the Season:
- New leagues may be added to TOTS in FUT 17 or existing ones removed.
- The blue cards receive boosts to the overall ratings usually by 3-6 points.
- The TOTY cards have better stats than the TOTS cards.
- With TOTS cards, players can increase their quality (for example, from Bronze to Silver). However, the “Most Consistent” players cannot do this.
- You receive TOTS cards by pulling them from packs or purchasing them on the transfer market.
- The chance for a TOTS card in packs is as high as the chance to get the player’s standard card at another time.
- If a player changed teams during the season, he still receives only one TOTS card (for the team he performed better for).
- It is expected that there will be special set offers during the TOTS phase.
- If you own a card of a player that is now receiving a TOTS card, your card remains unchanged.
- A player can appear in multiple TOTS – but he will always have the same stats.
